A Hamptons-Inspired Backyard Makeover in Beacon Hill

Our team recently wrapped up a beautiful project in Beacon Hill that we’re really proud of. The homeowners wanted a Hamptons-style outdoor space that felt elegant but relaxed - somewhere they could unwind, entertain and keep an eye on the kids by the pool.

A Deck Made for Living

The custom-built deck has become the heart of the backyard. It’s got picture framing for a clean finish, glass balustrades that open up the view, and quality work by the Motion Maintenance team. We added a benchtop area that’s perfect for a morning coffee or drink in the afternoon sun while the kids are in the pool. Every aspect was built to suit the clients’ lifestyle and make the space flow naturally from indoors to out.

Smart Screening and Clean Lines

To tie everything together, we installed extensive screening around the deck. This not only adds privacy but also gives the space a balanced, cohesive feel. It’s the kind of detail that makes a big difference - subtle, but essential to achieving that timeless Hamptons look.

Overcoming Poolside Challenges

The pool area came with a few tricky challenges, including groundwater issues and unstable retaining walls. Our team rebuilt and remediated the walls, added strip drains to improve water flow, and installed custom-made coping around the pool. The result is a sturdy, well-drained area that looks great and will stand the test of time.

Elegant Touches and Functional Design

The Hamptons theme carried through with a white PVC fence and pergola that blend perfectly with the home’s exterior. To add warmth, we included custom Merbau bench seating that brings out the natural tones of the timber decking.

We also created a custom barbecue area complete with a sleek black and stainless steel barbecue, sink, and fridge - all designed to be mobile, so the setup can be adjusted for different occasions. Movable garden boxes on wheels were the finishing touch, offering flexibility for entertaining and easy plant care.
